3. [ Pick up your order ]
Before coming to your drop location, first check your email. We will send an email on every delivery day to confirm when we will deliver that day.
For BERKELEY - Three Stone Hearth customers we deliver on the FIRST and THIRD Wednesday of each month and will be there from 5pm through 7pm.
Remember to bring your cooler with ice when picking up your order. We often deliver milk only hours after milking and it may still be a little warm. It is important to chill it as fast as possible. Cars can get hot very quickly in the sun.
4. [ Return jars ]
If you return jars, we only accept our jars. It is very important to use clean jars with fresh raw milk. Jars used for garlic or pickling will make the milk smell off... It is not easy to wash this out without chemicals. We cannot reuse these jars. We do everything we can to provide a safe clean product including inspecting jars to be sure they are sterile and not contaminated. When they smell we cannot take the risk of using them. Please separate our jars with others and return them with your name on. When we get your return jars, we return your deposit.
For Local customer: If you prefer to use your own jars, you need to clean and sterilize your jars. Please make sure we have enough jars here for your monthly order. We prefer you drop your jars monthly so we do not need to worry about tracking your jars. It really helps us and keeps the drop location clear. It is messy when we find random bags and jars outside the cooler in the front door entrance.
You can buy wide mouth jars in Walmart for only $10 for 12 jars.
We only clean and sterilize jars that you have paid a deposit on.
[ New local customer ]
If you are a new customer ( not ordered before), please make an appointment to visit our farm first.. You will meet us and our goats and we can answer all your questions. Then you are ready to order.

Farm open from 9am - 9pm. make an appointment by phone before you come . 408-677-9557 Jane

Goats and grazing animals have been used for countless years as land management tools, and are a popular alternative to the land management conventions of mowing, disking, and burning. Managed Grazing takes into account multiple levels of the environment including: vegetation types, soil types, watershed functions, plant recovery mechanisms, nutrient flow and energy cycling. All can be managed, monitored, and improved with proper management procedure. Goats have been successfully used to control vegetation for thousands of years, but it wasn’t until recently that management techniques and expertise have made planned goat grazing the most effective method for Fire Mitigation , Noxious weed abatement and safe Land Management. Goats have been called the only environmentally friendly, solar-powered, self-propelled weed-eaters that produce no fossil fuels, noise pollution or fire hazards. Goats have the unique ability to convert overgrown and potentially fire hazardous grass, weeds, and brush into pastoral landscapes.
